Jugetsudo Sencha (Green Tea)
From Jugetsudo, a Tokyo tea house founded by Maruyama Nori, a nori merchant with roots going back to 1854, these senchas are loose leaf, brewed hot or cold.
Yuzu Sencha pairs organic sencha with Japanese yuzu citrus for a crisp, clean, and invigorating cup. The smooth umami of the sencha plays against the bright, tart character of the yuzu, with a delicate floral lift underneath. Uplifting and a little unexpected.
Sakura Sencha blends organic sencha with freeze-dried yaezakura (double-layered cherry blossom) petals, preserved at peak freshness to lock in their natural fragrance. The result is refreshing and lightly floral, with a natural sweetness and no artificial flavoring. The tin features woodblock artwork by Hokusai.
Organic Sencha (Asa) is the classic. "Asa" means morning in Japanese, and this is a tea built for it: light, grassy, and fragrant, with a well-balanced flavor naturally rich in theanine. A good daily cup, and an honest one.
