Obitsu Kaburimono Kewpie Doll - Maneki-neko
A classic Obitsu Kewpie figure dressed as a maneki-neko, the beckoning cat known across Japan as a symbol of good luck.
This is another entry in Obitsu Seisakusho's Kaburimono series, where the same familiar Kewpie face gets dressed up in a new costume each release. Here it's the maneki-neko, paw raised in the traditional beckoning gesture meant to invite good fortune, holding a gold coin inscribed with 千万両, an old denomination meaning roughly "ten million gold pieces," used as shorthand for enormous wealth. It's one of the most recognizable lucky charms in Japan, now with a Kewpie face peeking out from under the ears.
A fun addition to the Kaburimono collection, tuck it in your bag for bingo night and let it do the beckoning for you, or just let it bring good vibes to a desk or shelf.
