110 sheets of origami paper sized perfectly for folding a senbazuru, a traditional string of one thousand paper cranes.

In Japan, the crane is considered a symbol of longevity and good fortune, and the practice of folding a thousand cranes dates back to the Edo period. The tradition is best known through Sadako Sasaki, a young girl in Hiroshima who began folding cranes during her illness, after which the gesture became a global symbol of peace.

Toyo, a paper manufacturer based in Ehime, has been making origami paper in this format for decades, and partners with origami associations in more than 30 countries to help keep the craft alive.

This set includes 20 colors plus one gold embossed sheet, all cut to the standard 7.5cm size used for senbazuru. The small size also works well for any other miniature origami.
